Joseph Rogan makes news… sorry… ‘trends’ a lot. He’s never been a leading doctor or scientist, unless it’s the science of eating eyeballs on reality TV for money.
Like most great entertainers & every person from Massachusetts - Joey is a bit defiant. Some, may even say Joseph Rogan is sassy. An elk meat eating, thinking saunas cure viruses, sassy pants.
Early in the pandemic - pre pandemic- when officials were saying “no one needs a mask”, comedy Dr Joseph J Rogan was questioning that. Joe was asking good questions like “then why do doctors & nurses wear masks all the time”? If masks don’t protect people - why does everyone in the medical field wear them. These questions originated from the ‘Sassy Joey’ experience podcast. Valid questions. And provocative. Keeping it SASSY.
Joseph, around this same time, was also asking leading infectious scientists if Joeys’ sauna could cure or protect from Covid - because Joey believed the hot air killed the virus. Sassy.
IMAGINE if all Italy had to do was shove those old folks into saunas instead of the ER and BOOM cured!!! Joe thought he was onto something, but ya know…. Science. Too bad though. Some may even say that fix seemed too easy, pull yourself up by the breathing tubes…. Er bootstraps.
But then as time progressed and the leadership who originally said “No Masks” (but knew we all should be wearing masks but we were severely unprepared & any and every mask we had needed to go to doctors & nurses) - that leadership changed course and said “Geezus people!! Start making masks at home, find anything to cover your filthy Covid spreading faces & wear a mask!!!”… and Jeff Bezos, who some think doesn’t have enough money - heard that & then the price of masks rose 1000% on Amazon…. During this “change”…. The Joey Roey Experience kept its sassy pants on and said “what if we’re really strong men who eat elk meat and go in the sauna!” Then we, strongman, should be strong enough to not have to wear a mask & bend the knee to “science” and if Covid comes near our mouths or noses we will put it in a choke hold and make it go to sleep. SASSY!
Joey & his experience, even tried to convince Billy Burr that masks are for the weak! Anyone who wears a mask must not eat enough elk meat…. And is…. Scared, which on this podcast means they aren’t tough. But Billy Burr (another Masshole) held his ground… and on the video you could even kind of see inside Joeys mind, he was questioning himself & his definitions of “strong”. Maybe just maybe - “strength” is doing something outside of your comfort & going beyond yourself for the sake of others. Nahhhhh… strength is eating elk meat medium rare!
Nowadays, Joey is keeping it sassy… not necessarily because he believes in any of it… or like Ben “I’m so smart I ONLY debate college Freshman” Shapiro said - because Joseph isn’t scared to have anyone on his podcast…. It’s strictly in the realm of “keeping it Sassy” in his carefully crafted image as a ‘presenter of information’ which keeps him top of ‘trending’. Joey keeps polarizing people in a clever way - suggesting he’s just asking questions & presenting ‘all sides’. Suggesting anyone who won’t hear all sides is anti-knowledge… but sometimes there are not two sides - or - do you believe ‘flat earthers’ should have a platform to spew bad info?
Joseph is defiant. Being defiant definitely can have positive qualities. Yet Polarization joins together an audience that normally isn’t debating discussions. The KEY to his carefully crafted ‘presenter of information’ experience is - whatever side you land on - you talk about HIM… which brings him money. That’s the bottom line. Money. so we could all just ignore him, that would take his illusion of power away.
SuperMensch Shep Gordon, promoter manager of Alice Cooper, does an excellent job explaining this in his book - getting extreme attention is the way to fame & fortune… no matter if that attention divides families or is considered “repulsive”… of course they were not playing with health during a pandemic but the same principles apply. Also, Shep always wanted to help & heal people… so huge difference. It’s a great read… I highly recommend his book.. there’s a movie too but it’s not as good as the book. Oh Geezus, I just became one of those ‘not as good as the book’ people.
