Daily Revolution

Neil Young turns out to be one of the hardest punk rockers today. He gave Spotify an ultimatum - you can have Joe Rogan or Neil Young but not both - because of the misinformation Josephine Rogan spreads on his podcast.

The world needs more humans like Neil who won’t sacrifice their morals, ethics and standards for money. I’m disappointed in the lack of solidarity from other artists who aren’t using their voice & music to take a stand. Especially the artists who have complained that Spotify only gives them cents on the dollar per one billion spins of their song… if the money is that little, now is a great time to tell them to kick rocks. And you’ll get the added benefit of taking a stand against the toxic misinformation for profit pushers.

Daily Revolution

Oprah, was a thought leader when she took the simple idea of a “Book Club” and turned it into a branded benchmark for her audience… though we will never forgive Oprah for her branding of Dr Phil & Dr Oz (alleged Doctors)

And I appreciate when the content creators I support take the time to share what they’re reading or curate their own recommended reading lists… especially when it’s ‘on topic’ with the content they create.

I wanted to take a moment & share the magazine I support, Jacobin.

To support this quarterly issued content, it’s 30 dollars a year. My first issue seemed to be destiny. The Fall 2021 Jacobin magazine covers two cases I’ve followed almost my entire life. The Trial of Afeni Shakur & the cold case of Notorious BIG, and the connection of Biggies death to the LAPD.

This magazine is not your typical ‘check out line recycling material’, it’s Revolutionary.

Daily Revolution

American Radio once was Radical. Radio once was a part of The People’s Movement. It was subversive & part of the counter culture. I fell in love with the community power Radio endowed its people with.

America has a proven track record of electing celebrities, whether it’s movie stars or TV stars - America LOVES voting for Hollywood.

Radio today is more like a deactivated movement, once ready to rally for causes connecting the community, now flaccid & impotent to the syndication of shows, corporate mergers & national sponsors.

Radio MISSES the mark. Radio halls look like the red carpet, with celebrities constantly shuffling through for interviews… Hosts should be getting fames’ point of view on all topics, not just the new promotional thing. Of course, you almost always have to “ok” it before “celebs” come on air. And from what I’ve witnessed, most comedians will give you an interesting unthought-of take on almost any issue… Comics are philosophers. But radio should be entering into discussions with the cultural heavyweights. Some humans think celebrities should “stick to…. whatever their specialty is” and not have an opinion, which seems to be wicked Un American - telling people to not be involved in their country. It’s also wicked Ironic at times, because those people that tell celebs to “stay out of it” - usually only do that when it’s in opposition to their stance. Every American should be educating themselves, getting involved & speaking up for what they believe in.

Issues like guns, policing, homelessness, addiction, child poverty, voting, are not “political” issues, they are societal issues which we all have to deal with. And nothing makes a “celebrity” more real than when they relate a personal story. It’s funny, that the famous people on the far right wing of the government bird have no issues speaking up about these societal issues. But it seems like the celebrities who are “for the people” get real hesitant to speak up…. I wonder why!? Maybe because they fear they’d lose money… we know corporations by definition are not “for the people” but are systems for profit. So the quiet hesitancy could be not wanted to upset the hand that feeds. It’s sad. Work & sacrifice your entire life to create yourself as a brand only to sacrifice who you are for money. Whoever does it - right or left, it’s sad. And I encourage you to re think taking back your voice. This also goes for anyone that holds the power of having a Radio Show. Some of these Radio Hosts are already keenly aware of the power they have speaking to hundreds of thousands of people every morning…. and some aren’t using that power to engage & connect “the people”. To my former colleagues, you have the power to speak about these issues & make change… and if your ratings are in the gutter, then what have you got to lose? Is radio just a way to make money? If so, GTFO. Make room for the revolutionaries.

And for the shows & Radio Hosts who keep the revolutionary torch burning, thank you. If you know shows like this - share them, tell people about it, support them, call them, write them. There is one station here in Boston that’s Revolutionary Spirit burns bright - B87 FM featuring Notorious in the Morning. Host VOG & the team making that station happen, aren’t censoring their beliefs & responsibility to the community. And they continue to keep it entertaining & informative.

Radio isn’t doing it’s part to serve the community when they aren’t engaging in community issues. That’s a big part of why Radio Stations are allowed to get licensed, to be of service to their communities. Radio, do your job.

This blog is in Honor of the first Black senator of Massachusetts, Bill Owens. Rest In Peace, thank you for your struggle.

Here’s the latest episode of The Boston Robb Show…. I talk about driving the money changers from the temple…. And why Joel “Camel Through the Eye of a Needle” Osteen blocked me on Twitter. Click Box below to listen to the podcast… ⤵️

Daily Revolution

Mega Church Prosperity Gospel Preacher & camel trying to thread the eye of a needle, Joel Osteen does not like when followers of Yeshua, like myself, reply to his “Biblical” tweets with other Bible quotes about what Yeshua said to the rich man, or about the wealthy. Maybe Joel hasn’t read about Jesus chasing the money changers out of the temple? There’s no way he knows how Jesus feels about people turning his Fathers house into a market place… while Joel’s church’s revenue is 26 million a year…. Which he doesn’t pay taxes on. Maybe Joel also skipped past the part of the Bible where Jesus tells Peter to get a coin from the fish’s mouth to pay the taxes for them both… because anyone who makes a living off being a follower & messenger of Jesus must want to do their best to follow in Jesus footsteps & pay taxes…

I guess these insights are why Televangelist Joel Osteen blocked me on Twitter.

Is it Irony his book is telling me I’m stronger than I think? Huh…. I really got to Ol Joelseph.
Maybe I am doing some good. A light on a hill.

It’s ok Joel, I forgive you. But I still got my 👀 on you.
Can I get an Amen! Hallelujah!!!

Daily Revolution

I appreciate good irony. Like the “Freedom Loving” humans who talk about traveling to Boston from Texas for business. They claim to leave early from oppressive Vaccine / Mask Mandates… to ya know, travel back to their state where people are still being arrested & jailed for Cannabis - a proven medical treatment.

These ironical humans always seem to mention money, the money Boston missed out on them spending. I wonder if they consider that some things, like human health, is more important than their “tip money”. Maybe to them, it’s like a ‘Chicken or the Egg’ conundrum. They can’t figure out if life is worth anything without money…. But they must know without life, their is no money…. We hope?

Speaking of money…. The current puppet in the White House ran on a promise of canceling ‘10k’ of student debt. And it looks like he’s now flip flopped to take the side of the Debtors… not too surprised, they probably have made some hefty donations. If you want to help the economy, why not bail out the people who support it & are the primary assets to a healthy economy? Maybe calling ‘we the people’ assets is the right language to get the wealthy’s attention.

In the Ralph Nader Radio Hour, they discuss how “canceling the 1.6 trillion in debt will add nothing to the national debt”.

Daily Revolution

Dan Price is the CEO who raised his company’s minimum wage to 70k a year. This made a lot of news. I was working on a morning show in Boston when this happened. I supported him from the moment I heard what he was doing & hoped for his success. I faced a lot of opposition, people - including the business owning host I was working with, laughed at Dans leadership but more importantly - hoped he failed so it wouldn’t expose them as the greedy oppressive bosses they are. Dan frightened a lot of American bosses. He’s a Revolutionary. That’s scares people.

Dan’s successes, his leadership in providing better employee conditions, and his continued vocal support for change is inspirational. I recommend following Dan on which ever virtual platform you use, and supporting him for walking the walk.

I want to share one of Dan’s tweets about the “Great Resignation” with you.

Dan is right on the money… and speaking of money…. One important aspect to Universal Healthcare is it will cost employers less - it will save companies money. But the reason Corporations lobby against it - because of the power they have over employees with healthcare being tied to employment. If healthcare is not tied to a jobs, it gives people the freedom to pursue jobs they want, not because they need healthcare. I know people who have a second job for the healthcare! When did that become part of the American Dream? Taking a second or third job because the healthcare option is better.

Tell that to a European and they might think you’re describing a nightmare.

Its sad American workers have been tricked into fighting against better conditions for themselves. The ‘American Dream’ should be everything Dan mentioned in his tweet, it’s not but it is in Europe.
Today poor & middle income people have been deceived into thinking the “American Dream” is working hard enough eventually earns you a billion. Not understanding America isn’t a meritocracy. And no one “earns” a billion. *See my previous blog titled “How to Earn Billions like Elon Musk”.

For the Artists….

…From Abbie

To the Artists struggling to find their voice, to get their art seen, to become the artist they are. Keep going, continue creating, do not stop.

Queen Beyoncé, once part of the group Girls Tyme, lost on Star Search… for those who aren’t old enough - star search was American Idol first - but they had on all kinds of entertainers from Comedy to Hip Hop.

The Harry Potter books were rejected 9 times. 9 times!!! That’s enough times to make some people turn away and let their dreams drift off to the nether. Imagine all the different great works of art we’ve missed over the centuries because of lost belief.

Hope is crucial, it can be dangerous, but it’s essential to keeping going.

And to the young artists - do your best to never lose your spark, your curiosity, and your imagination.

This is one of my favorite drawings my daughter gave me.

Joseph Rogan makes news… sorry… ‘trends’ a lot. He’s never been a leading doctor or scientist, unless it’s the science of eating eyeballs on reality TV for money.
Like most great entertainers & every person from Massachusetts - Joey is a bit defiant. Some, may even say Joseph Rogan is sassy. An elk meat eating, thinking saunas cure viruses, sassy pants.

Early in the pandemic - pre pandemic- when officials were saying “no one needs a mask”, comedy Dr Joseph J Rogan was questioning that. Joe was asking good questions like “then why do doctors & nurses wear masks all the time”? If masks don’t protect people - why does everyone in the medical field wear them. These questions originated from the ‘Sassy Joey’ experience podcast. Valid questions. And provocative. Keeping it SASSY.
Joseph, around this same time, was also asking leading infectious scientists if Joeys’ sauna could cure or protect from Covid - because Joey believed the hot air killed the virus. Sassy.

IMAGINE if all Italy had to do was shove those old folks into saunas instead of the ER and BOOM cured!!! Joe thought he was onto something, but ya know…. Science. Too bad though. Some may even say that fix seemed too easy, pull yourself up by the breathing tubes…. Er bootstraps.

But then as time progressed and the leadership who originally said “No Masks” (but knew we all should be wearing masks but we were severely unprepared & any and every mask we had needed to go to doctors & nurses) - that leadership changed course and said “Geezus people!! Start making masks at home, find anything to cover your filthy Covid spreading faces & wear a mask!!!”… and Jeff Bezos, who some think doesn’t have enough money - heard that & then the price of masks rose 1000% on Amazon…. During this “change”…. The Joey Roey Experience kept its sassy pants on and said “what if we’re really strong men who eat elk meat and go in the sauna!” Then we, strongman, should be strong enough to not have to wear a mask & bend the knee to “science” and if Covid comes near our mouths or noses we will put it in a choke hold and make it go to sleep. SASSY!

Joey & his experience, even tried to convince Billy Burr that masks are for the weak! Anyone who wears a mask must not eat enough elk meat…. And is…. Scared, which on this podcast means they aren’t tough. But Billy Burr (another Masshole) held his ground… and on the video you could even kind of see inside Joeys mind, he was questioning himself & his definitions of “strong”. Maybe just maybe - “strength” is doing something outside of your comfort & going beyond yourself for the sake of others. Nahhhhh… strength is eating elk meat medium rare!

Nowadays, Joey is keeping it sassy… not necessarily because he believes in any of it… or like Ben “I’m so smart I ONLY debate college Freshman” Shapiro said - because Joseph isn’t scared to have anyone on his podcast…. It’s strictly in the realm of “keeping it Sassy” in his carefully crafted image as a ‘presenter of information’ which keeps him top of ‘trending’. Joey keeps polarizing people in a clever way - suggesting he’s just asking questions & presenting ‘all sides’. Suggesting anyone who won’t hear all sides is anti-knowledge… but sometimes there are not two sides - or - do you believe ‘flat earthers’ should have a platform to spew bad info?

Joseph is defiant. Being defiant definitely can have positive qualities. Yet Polarization joins together an audience that normally isn’t debating discussions. The KEY to his carefully crafted ‘presenter of information’ experience is - whatever side you land on - you talk about HIM… which brings him money. That’s the bottom line. Money. so we could all just ignore him, that would take his illusion of power away.

SuperMensch Shep Gordon, promoter manager of Alice Cooper, does an excellent job explaining this in his book - getting extreme attention is the way to fame & fortune… no matter if that attention divides families or is considered “repulsive”… of course they were not playing with health during a pandemic but the same principles apply. Also, Shep always wanted to help & heal people… so huge difference. It’s a great read… I highly recommend his book.. there’s a movie too but it’s not as good as the book. Oh Geezus, I just became one of those ‘not as good as the book’ people.

In order to have a revolution, you first need to have an evolution of self. - my sister

"Change does not roll in on the wheels of inevitability, but comes through continuous struggle. And so we must straighten our backs and work for our freedom. A man can't ride you unless your back is bent."

- Martin Luther King, Jr.

I strongly encourage every man woman and child to listen to King’s ‘I Have A Dream’ Speech. I’ve linked the full 17 minute speech in the box below.

I hope we’ve all been able to witness some of the most powerful photographs in all of history, the photography of the civil rights movement. A lot of those power filled photos were taken by an unlikely supporter of King, a white native Alabama man - Charles Moore. Charles, a US Marine, at times was the only photographer on the scene & his photos allowed the world to see the impact of King, the oppression he faced, and the hypocrisy of a “free” country’s government.

The link below shares his work and his story of how his radical photography helped share Kings powerful message throughout the world… and allow us today to reflect on our nation’s history.

The power of media is undeniable. It can reverberate through the halls of history OR can become an echo chamber. We, who choose to fight with our cameras & microphones, must do so with great responsibility.

Charles Moore, who took the photo below, said “I don’t want to fight with my fists, I want to fight with my camera”.

In an alleged “Free” nation, where the government seeks the destruction of Thought Revolutionaries, there are stark reminders of how little we’ve truly learned. And how easy it is for the power filled to attempt to convince its people otherwise.

Below is the letter sent to King by Hoovers FBI in an attempt to dissuade & discourage King - King didn’t back down.
This un-redacted letter was uncovered by Yale historian Beverly Gage & published by the New York Times in 2014.

The FBI attempting to “honor” the legacy of MLK Jr is like a main suspect attending the funeral and attempting to eulogize…

My Aunt recently sent me a book called ‘You Are The Brand’, by Mike Kim. It’s a radical book, engaging from the first page. In the book theres a gem from Ol’ Teddy Roosevelt.

If you’re one of the humans who seeks freedom from which ever ‘work’ system incorporates you, this book helps you develop that blueprint… Reading it is an exercise in independence. Thank you Jo & Mike.

Daily Revolution

So many humans these days pick a team and then alter their lives to the team goals. It strips us of ourselves. Abbie expresses politics perfectly in the third line of this passage. All the radicals who created change, from Yeshua to John Brown, were attempting a Cultural Revolution that happened to have an effect on the Political Revolution.

Thank you Abbie…

I wanted to share this video from YouTube that someone pieced together of Abbie Hoffman speaking through space & time to address us here in today…. It’s brilliant all around. I only wish this YouTube channel continued to post content like this… our young people need to hear this….

And below is the latest episode of The Boston Robb Show…. Click to listen ⤵️ ✊💚✊

Inspiration

There are few people who represent The People that have made an impact so powerful it reverberated through the halls of history. The Reverend Martin Luther King Jr is one of the few.
MLKs message to those who sit idly by in challenging times was as piercing as daybreak through the night sky.
To all those who hope for change, to those who say this is the best we’ve got or where else is it better… let’s address that - because I’m sure those words were muttered by well meaning people during other challenging times like the fight for civil rights or even worse, during the legal system of slavery here in America.

I hope to inspire you by sharing these words of a great man ripped away from us.

“The ultimate tragedy is not the oppression and cruelty by the bad people but the silence over that by the good people."

For those who claim to Follow Christ…

“The first question which the priest and the Levite asked was: 'If I stop to help this man, what will happen to me?' But ... the good Samaritan reversed the question: 'If I do not stop to help this man, what will happen to him?”

“He who passively accepts evil is as much involved in it as he who helps to perpetrate it. He who accepts evil without protesting against it is really cooperating with it.”

“The hottest place in Hell is reserved for those who remain neutral in times of great moral conflict.”

“The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy.”

“In the end, we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends.”

“Shallow understanding from people of good will is more frustrating than absolute misunderstanding from people of ill will.”

“Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter."

“Injustice anywhere is a threat to Justice everywhere”

More MLK quotes can be found online - I highly recommend watching / listening to MLKs speeches that are posted on YouTube - I’ve posted his Speech - “The Other America” below, sources for this list include Inc.com article written by Bill Murphy Jr.

The Magical 3 of Leadership

As a leader, there are 3 magical qualities are make you stand out undeniably more than any other leader others will encounter in their life.

  1. Love.
Love for the people you’re surrounded by, Love of what you’re engaged in, Loving where you’re at. Love is the ultimate distinguishing quality. You can’t fake Love… you can fake “like”, and people notice. Love is the golden rule, love is hope in a seemingly impossible scenario, Love is the fuel which keeps the passion burning. Love isn’t tangible yet when it’s present - you can feel it.

  2. Respect.

Respect gets overlooked quite often. Sometimes a Leaders ego helps drive them into that position. But that same drive can sometimes overlook the most basic qualities sought after in good leadership… like Respect. Respect isn’t something you only display while in more power-filled company, it’s a quality you continue to discover more about throughout your life. Respect for only the most important situations or people is a calculated way to ensure erosion of morale. Respecting each person or situation doesn’t take much energy, but the fruits of that labor are countless.

  3. Humility.

Humble, seems like the last thing expected of someone calling shots and having ultimate responsibilities, but it’s possibly the most powerful attribute a leader can possess. Wisdom is knowing that no one truly does everything completely alone and having the power to acknowledge those who help & give reveals strength of character. Taking credit is easy, giving credit takes strength.
